1 1/2 C Melted Butter (3 sticks or 3/4 pound)
1 1/2 C Powdered Sugar
1 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
1/2 Tsp Cardamom (optional)
1/2 Tsp Salt
3 1/2 C Flour
1 C Finely Chopped Nuts
(Pecans or Walnuts)
1 C Powdered Sugar

Melt butter in microwave-safe bowl for 45 seconds on high (you can melt butter in sauce pan on stove top). In large mixing bowl, mix melted butter and 1
1/2 C Powdered sugar together. Add vanilla, nutmeg, cardamom and salt. Mix well. Add flour gradually,blending well after each addition. Stir in the nuts. Form the dough into 1 inch balls or can make crescent-shaped. Place onto UNGREASED Cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 min. Let cookies cool for 2-3 min. Then roll warm cookies into the 1 C Powdered Sugar. Place on cooling rack to finish cooling. These are a very traditional cookie in a lot of cultures at Weddings.
