Pie:
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
Dash of salt
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. margarine
1 tsp. shredded lemon peel
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 c. sour cream
1-2 pie shell, baked

Meringue:
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar with cornstarch and salt. Slowly stir in milk. Cook and stir until mixture is boiling and thickened. Blend a small amount of hot mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks to temper them. Return to hot mixture; cook and stir 2 minutes. Add margarine, lemon peel and juice. Cover and cool. Fold in sour cream. Spoon into pie shell(s).

For the meringue beat egg whites with cream of tartar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar; beat to stiff peaks. Spoon meringue onto top of filling; spread, touching to crust on all sides. Bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes.
