3 sticks butter room temp
1 c cocoa
1 c. boiling water
1 c. sour cream
3 c. all purpose flour
3/4 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
2 1/4 c. sugar
4 lg eggs
4 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 350º
Butter 2 8in pans or sheet pan. Can line with parchment and butter that and add cocoa powder. Whisk boiling water into cocoa until smooth; whisk in sour cream. Whisk together flour, salt, powder and soda. In lg bowl, using mixer, beat butter and sugar on med high until fluffy and pale yellow. Beat in whole eggs one at a time until mixed. Mixer on low, add flour mixture in 3 additions alternating with 2 additions cocoa mixture and beat until combined. Fold in vanilla.
Put batter in pans and bake until toothpick comes clean, 45-50 min in round pans, longer in big pan.
Rotate pans halfway.
Cool completely on wire racks.
Very good with 7 minute frosting
