¾ box brown sugar, light or dark
½ cup plus 2 tblsp whipping cream
1 tblsp flour
Chunk butter – 2/3 tblspns
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Mix brown sugar & flour; Add cream; Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally; When mixture comes to a boil, test by dropping a small amount of frosting into cold water; When it forms a soft ball, it is ready; Add chunk butter & let cool; Add vanilla & whip until reaches desired consistency.

NOTES: This recipe covers a 2-3 layer cake. An entire box of brown sugar & ¾ cup of whipping cream make a thicker frosting; other measurements remain the same. Milk or Half & Half can be used in place of cream. Recipe can be used to make chocolate frosting; just add Hershey’s cocoa to sugar & flour mix. Important – do not overbeat.
