2 T. butter
1 onion, chopped
1/2 C. celery, sliced (optional)
3. C. potatoes, cubed
3 C. chicken broth
1 lb. smoked sausage,chopped
1/2 C. sour cream
10 3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
1 C. milk
salt and pepper as desired

Directions:
Melt butter in Dutch oven; saute onion and celery until onion is translucent. Add potatoes and chicken broth; bring to a boil. Add sausage, cover, reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.In small bowl, combine sour cream and mushroom soup; add to chowder, then stir in milk. Heat, but do not boil.
