1 medium onion, chopped
1-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 tablespoon flour
3 cans (6.5 oz) minced clams
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 oz linguini
1/4 cup parsley
Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
Cook and stir onion in butter. Add garlic when onion is almost tender. Continue to cook until onion is tender; stir in flour. Add clams with liquid, salt, basil, pepper and parsley. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt to rapidly boiling water. Gradually add linguini so that water continues to boil. Cook 7-10 minutes or just until linguini is tender. Drain. Serve sauce over hot linguini and sprinkle with cheese.
