Bottom Layer:
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c.flour

Topping:
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 T. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. moist shredded coconut
1 c. pecans (or other nuts), chopped

Directions:

Bottom Layer:
Mix together and press into bottom of 9x13 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350º.

Topping:
Mix together all ingredients. Spread onto baked bottom layer and bake another 15 minutes until topping in golden brown. Cool slightly; cut into bars.

Note: Excellent with Stone Hill Winery's Cream Sherry!!!!
