Ingredients:  
1 large sweet onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
1 28 oz diced tomatoes
1 12 oz tomato paste
1 12 oz can of water
1 tsp basil
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
salt to taste
1 lb ground sirloin, browned

Directions:
Directions:
Saute' onion, green pepper and garlic in vegetable oil. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, sugar, crushed red pepper. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Brown ground sirloin and drain. Add to tomato mixture and simmer another 45 minutes.
Serve with pasta.

Personal Notes:
I use Hunt'sİ tomatoes and tomato paste. Best made a day ahead and allowed to "age." Freezes well.

This sauce also works well as lasagna sauce.
