Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3/4 cup of butter or part margarine ( I used part margarine and like it)
1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar - I used granulated sugar)
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves, ground
1/2 teaspoon ginger, ground

Directions:
Directions:
Mix in order given. Chill dough at least 2 hours.
Roll out of flour board. Bake on cookie sheet (I use parchment paper so I do not have to grease and later scrub a cookie sheet).
Set oven at 350⁰F. Bake for 10 minutes or less (last time because they were thin it only took 8 minutes-turn sheet at 4 minutes). Grandma’s recipe says 13 to 15 minutes but they were thicker.

Same recipe works for drop cookies. Make ball size of walnuts and roll in sugar and bake.
