9 lasagna noodles
1 lb ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
¾ cup onions, chopped
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 lb can diced tomatoes
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
2 tsp sugar
¼ tsp each - marjoram, thyme, basil, oregano
1½ cups shredded mozzarella
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1½ cups cottage cheese or ricotta

Brown beef. Add garlic and onion; saute. Drain off fat. Add tomatoes, sauce, sugar and herbs. Simmer uncovered for one hour. Spread ½ cup of sauce on bottom of 9 x 13 dish. Layer noodles, then cheeses, then some sauce and repeat. Top with sauce and mozzarella. Cover with foil and bake at 350ºF for 45 minutes. Uncover and cook for another 15 minutes.
