1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. quick-cooking oatmeal
Frosting:
2 T. margarine
2 T. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 1/2 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together first five ingredients. Add flour, salt, and soda ; mix well. Stir in oatmeal. Pat firmly into greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Bake 10-12 minutes. Do not over bake.
Frosting: Combine powdered sugar with remaining ingredients; beat well. Frost bars while warm.
