1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. applesauce
2 c. raisins
2 c. nuts
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
2 t. soda
2 t. cinn.
1 t. cloves
Grandma Margaret's Carmel Frosting:
1 c. butter
1 c. brn. sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 c. pdr. sugar
1 t. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Soften butter, add sugar, beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce, add raisins and nuts.
Bake 375degrees for 1 hour

Icing:
Mix butter and brn. sugar and boil 2 minutes. Stirring constantly and add milk. Bring to a boil again. Remove from heat, let cool till warm. Add pdr. sugar and beat well. Add vanilla and beat till spreading consistency.
