1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter together. Beat in egg, vanilla, and lemon juice. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Add to creamed mixture. Divide dough and roll out to rolls 2” by 6”. Wrap each roll in wax paper and refrigerate overnight. When ready to bake, cut rolls into very thin cookies. If desired, place a nut or cherry in the middle of each.
Bake at 275 degrees for 10 minutes then remove from oven, sprinkle with sugar, then return to oven for a few minutes longer.
