1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until frothy. Add the slightly beaten egg and the dry ingredients sifted together. Add nuts and vanilla. Mix well and shape dough into small rolls. Wrap in wax paper. Place in refrigerator.
Slice and bake cookies as desired. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 10 minutes.
