Directions: Put spices in a small skillet over medium heat. Stir about 2 minutes to cut rawness and bring out flavors. Cool 1 minute; add to yogurt and stir until well blended. Marinate fish 30 to 60 minutes. Baste with marinade during cooking. Bake or Broil. Bake: Heat oven to 375ºF. Place marinaded fish in lightly greased shallow baking dish. Pour remaining marinade over fish and bake uncovered about 10 minutes per inch of thickness, basting occasionally (no need to turn). Fish is done when thickest part is just barely opaque—lift up a flake or two with a fork and look.
Broil: Fillets or steaks that are 3/4-1 inch thick are best for this. Line broiler pan with foil for an easy clean-up. Arrange marinated fish on lightly greased rack. Broil about 4 inches from heat source 10 minutes per inch of thickness, basting occasionally with reserved marinade and turning steaks halfway through cooking (don't turn fillets).
