1/2 c. shortening
1 2/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2-1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar, vanilla. Beat in eggs. Add melted chocolate and blend well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to first mixture alternately with milk beating until smooth. Stir in nuts.

Refrigerate five hours. Form 1" balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Place 3" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 15 minutes.
