3 cups boiling water
2 cups milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 Tbsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
4 Tbsp butter

In a medium saucepan bring water, milk and cream to a simmer.

Whisk in grits in a steady stream.

Continue to simmer, stirring frequently for 20-30 minutes.

Add butter, salt and pepper, stirring to blend.
