1 1/2 cups quick oatmeal
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter (melted)
1 brownie mix (13x9 inch pan size)
Frosting:
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 cup milk
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Combine oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, soda, and salt. Stir in butter until all is blended. Press into ungreased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes. (until puffed and edges are light brown.) Prepare the brownie mix as directed. Spread the batter over crust. Bake 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Frosting:
In small saucepan, stir together sugar, cocoa, butter and milk. Cook slowly till begins to boil. Continue to boil for 1 minute. Add vanilla and salt. Remove from heat. As frosting cools, beat approximately every 5 minutes. When starting to thicken and almost cool, spread frosting on top of brownies.
