6 eggs
6 c. sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

1.Beat the above ingredients for 10 minutes with mixer. Then add the following ingredients: 1 tbsp. anise seed 6 c. flour (a little at a time)
2.Roll out 1/4 inch thick, then roll designs on dough with springerle rolling pin and cut cookies apart. Let stand overnight. Bake in 300 degree oven for 15 minutes until light tan in color. These cookies will be hard and good for dipping in coffee, cocoa, etc. If you would rather have a soft cookie, bake right away instead of leaving out overnight.
