1/2 head of lettuce, chopped
1 can green peas, drained (I use the little LaSeur peas)
1 small onion, chopped
5 stalks celery, chopped
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 to 1 cup chopped pecans
Parmesan cheese
Bacon Bits
1 pint mayonnaise (I use less)
3 Tablespoon sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Place 1/2 of lettuce in bottom of oblong casserole -like dish. Layer peas, onions, celery, cheese and nuts. Put the remaining lettuce on top. Mix the mayonnaise with sugar. Ice the salad top with this mixture. Sprinkle cheese and bacon bits over the mayonnaise mixture. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate over night. Serves 6-8.

I usually use a whole head of lettuce. It depends on the size of dish you use. This is such a great salad and can be made ahead of time. It's even pretty good the next day.
