1 T. chicken base
5 – 6 cups water
1/2 medium white onion
6 slices bacon
4 -5 cloves garlic
1 lb. mild Italian sausage
2 c. packed kale
1 c. heavy whipping cream
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
2 large russet potatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Brown Italian sausage and drain. Brown, do not burn bacon. Remove bacon and add minced onion to the bacon grease; cook until transparent. Add minced garlic and cook for only 1-2 minutes
Bring water and chicken base to a boil.
Cut potatoes in half lengthwise and half in lengthwise again. Then cut into ¼ slices.
Add potatoes, garlic, onion and bacon to the water.
Cook until potatoes are done, about 10-15 minutes.
Add sausage and kale; cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Serve with parmesan cheese.
