3 T. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
Cream this together
1 well beaten egg yoke add to above and beat well

1/2 c, chopped dates
1/4 c. walnuts
2 c.graham cracker crumbs
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1/2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir in fruit & nuts.
Add crumbs to cream mixture alternately with milk.
Fold in 1 stiff beaten egg white.
Steam for 1 1/2 hours in 1 1/2qt. mold.
Sauce:
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 t. vanilla
dash salt
beat together
fold in 1 cup whipped cream
