1 box yellow Butter Cake Mix
20 ounce can crushed pineapple
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 packs instant vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
1/2 stick butter
3/4 cup coconut, toasted
2 X 8 ounce Cool Whip

Directions:
Bake cake according to box directions in 13 X 9 X 2 pan. In a medium saucepan, combine pineapple with juice, water and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and syrupy. When cake is done, remove from oven and pierce top with a fork at 1 inch intervals. In a medium bowl combine pudding mix with milk. Blend until thick. Spread over the cake. Spread Cool Whip over the cake. Refrigerate for 24 hours. Toast coconut with 1/2 stick butter slowly over medium heat, keeping it stirred. Cool. Sprinkle the cake with the coconut before serving.

Mama made this cake to take to a church dinner. I asked her to tell anyone that asked what kind of cake she brought that it was a Hawaiian cake. We were on opposite sides of the room when I saw the Pastor approaching her. He asked what kind of cake she brought and commented that it was very good. She looked across the room at me, grinned her devlish grin and said, "It is a Better than Sex Cake." Needless to say, I wanted the floor to swallow me up.
