Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 c , 2 sticks, butter
2 cups sugar
1 t vanilla
4 large eggs
1 cup flour
¼ cup chopped walnuts – optional

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
2. Melt the butter and chocolate together on top of the stove or in the microwave. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
3. Place the sugar in a medium size mixing bowl and pour in the chocolate mixture. Using an electric mixer, mix until blended, and then scrape bowl
4. Add the vanilla, and then add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each one. Then scrape the bowl and blend a bit more.
5. Add the flour on low speed, mix in, scrape the bowl once, and blend until all the flour is incorporated.
6. Pour the batter into a greased 9x9 pan.
7. Bake until the center has risen to the level of the sides and tester inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs, about 35 minutes.
8. It is best to let these cool for a while before you cut into them. This step will be hard……..

PS If you don’t have a 9x9 pan ( this is a weird size) bake the brownies in a 8x8 pan, reducing the heat to 325 and add 10-15 minutes to the cooking time.
