Ingredients:
Everyone needs a recipe for these!

2 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 sticks butter – room temperature
½ cup white sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 full cup of semi sweet chocolate chips, or more if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350

Put butter, both sugars in a bowl and beat until smooth.Scrape down bowl and beat in the vanilla and eggs.
Mix the flour, baking soda and salt together in a bowl.
Gradually add in the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mix until smooth. Stir in chips.
Scoop dough into balls about golf ball sized and put on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake 10-14 minutes until set to desired doneness.
TIP:
You can make all of the dough balls and then freeze them. When frozen, take off sheet and throw in a Ziploc and keep in the freezer. This way you only eat fresh cookies and have some ready to go at a moments notice. And there have been plenty of people who have raided the freezer for frozen dough balls…….
I must have tried two dozen different recipes for chocolate chip cookies over the years trying to find just the right one, and never did until a few years ago when I found this one by Alton Brown from the Food Network. He called them "My Big Fat Chocolate Chip Cookies" so needless to say they are fat and chewy and best right out of the oven!
