1 qt. frozen peas (thawed)
2 qt. water
1 T. Watkins Chicken Soup & Gravy Base or 1 chicken bouillon cube
1/4 c. chopped green onion
Salt to taste

Directions:
Fill saucepot with 2 qts. water and add remaining ingredients. Bring all to a medium boil and reduce heat. Simmer for about 30-45 minutes. Peas will be soft and you will enjoy this low-fat version of Grandmas's old timey peas. You can use the same method for crowders, baby limas or butter beans, too. Of course you may always use bacon and lard if you just have to have a flashback! I use the Watkins products because most bouillon cubes contain MSG which is terrible for the brain cells, & I can't afford to lose any!
