1 c flour
1 c sugar
2/3 c milk
1 c. tart cherries mixed with 1 c sugar ( do not drain cherries)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 pinch of salt
1 stick of butter

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the butter. Mix in the sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk. Pour into an ungreased 9 X 12-inch cake pan ( batter will be thin). Drop cherry/sugar mixture over the top of the batter. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Serve warms. Good with ice cream or Cool Whip.

Ma made this a lot. She didn't even dirty a bowl, just melted the butter in the pan in the oven and then pulled it out and mixed everything else and popped it back in the oven
