2/3 cups shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
1/3 cup cocoa
2-1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 cup hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, shortening, 1/2 cup buttermilk. Add eggs and beat. Add dry ingredients alternately with rest of buttermilk. Add vanilla and hot water. Pour into a floured 9x13 cake pan Bake at 350 degrees.
