Directions:Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl. Stir in sugar, margarine, salt, egg, and two cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic--about 5 min. Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up. Cover; let rise in warm place until double in size--about 1 1/2 hours.
Meantime: Heat margarine from butterscotch mixture and add remaining ingredients. Spread in glass 13 x 9 pan.
Heat margarine from cinnamon mixture and mix together cinnamon and sugar. Punch dough down and knead for about 5 min. Roll into rectangle and spread with melted margarine and cinnamon mixture. Roll up tightly at large end and pinch edges into roll to seal well. Stretch roll to make even. Cut into 12--1/2" slices using dental floss and place into prepared glass pan. Let rise until double in size, about 40 minutes.
Heat oven and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Immediately invert pan on heatproof serving plate to let butterscotch mixture drizzle over rolls. |
