Ingredients:  
COOKIES: I cup sugar, 1 egg plus 1 yolk, 1/3 cup butter,
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, 1/2 tsp. vanilla,
1 1/3 cup flour, 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (optional).
GLAZE: 1 square unsweetened chocolate, 1 tbsp. butter,
1/4 tsp. vanilla, 2 to 3 tbsp. milk, 1 cup powdered sugar.

COOKIES: Melt chocolate and butter together in medium
saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in
sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend well. Gradually stir in flour and nuts until well combined. Shape into 3/4 " balls. Place
on ungreased cookie sheet about 1" apart. Bake 8-12 minutes at 350º, intil firm to touch. Do not over bake.
Remove immediately from cookie sheet. Cool.
GLAZE: In same sauce pan, melt chocolate and butter
over low heat. Remove from heat. Add remaining
ingredients. Blend well.
Dip tops of cookies into glaze. Let dry completely. Store
tightly covered with wax paper between layers.
