Peel & cut 7 lbs big cukes into slim sticks
Remove seed. Mix 2 cups lime in 2 gallons water and soak 24 hours.

Rinse well and drain. Make a solution of 2 gallons water and 3 oz alum. Let stand 6 hours. Drain. Pour clean water over and let stand 6 hours. Drain.

Mix 2 quarts water, 2 quarts vinegar, 12 cups sugar, 1 Tbsp. celery seed, 1 Tbsp. salt
Bring above mixture to boil. Pour over cukes and let set overnight.

Boil cukes in vinegar mixture 20 - 30 minutes until clear. Pack in jars & seal.
