7 lb cucumbers
2 c. pickling lime to 2 gallons of water
1 c. salt
1/2 c. alum
1/2 box pickling spices
2 qt. vinegar
4 lb sugar or a little over

Directions:
Directions:
Cut cukes in thin slices. Wash & soak overnight in lime water. Afterwards, wash well and soak in salt water for 4 hours. Drain & soak in cold water for 2 hours. Drain again and bring to rolling boil in alum water and rinse again. Cook 30 minutes in vinegar, spices and sugar. Can pack either cold or hot in jars and seal.
