1 quart scalded milk
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 pkg. yeast dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp each baking powder, baking soda and salt

flour sparingly

Directions:
Directions:
Into milk put potatoes, sugar, shortening and yeast. Add baking powder, soda and salt.

Use only enough flour to make a "soft" batter.

Let rise until full of bubbles. Add more flour to make a "stiff" dough.

Knead until smooth - put in fridge for 24 hours.

Let rise for 1 hour after removing from fridge. Shape and cut to fry.

Dough will keep 4 to 6 weeks in fridge.
