1/2 c. milk
1 pkg. yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1/4lb. margarine
1 tsp. lemon extract
3 c. flour
2 handfuls sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. mace
2 eggs
1 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl combine 1/2 c. milk, yeast and sugar; set aside to raise.
Meanwhile in a large pot melt together 1/2 c. milk and margarine, then let stand to cool.
Add lemon extract, flour, sugar, salt, mace, eggs and raisins to milk. Then add yeast mixture. Knead and add more flour if dough is too gooey. Let raise until double in size. Divide dough:
3 long strands, braid and press down in a pan.
2 long strands, twist and put on top of the 3.
1 long strand, twist and put on top of the 2.
Let raise again. Beat 1 egg and brush over dough. Bake in a 350º F oven for 30-45 minutes.
