"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Personal Notes:
This has been a Thanksgiving staple in the Pernetti family for a long time. I remember making it for the first time in the old kitchen in Wyckoff and Mom was laughing at me because I pulled up a chair to the stove while i was making it. She kept telling me "a watched pot never boils" as I was hovering over it.
The original recipe called for 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water per bag of cranberries. i thought it got a little too sweet so i like less sugar because you still get sweetness but now you get more of the tartness too. I love it on peanut butter sandwiches and on toast too....ENJOY! I know you will Dan.
