Ingredients:
I whole chicken (hen) cut up
large pot water
salt and pepper
3 c. Bisquick
2 or 3 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Boil chicken in large pot, adding salt and pepper. When chicken is done, take it up and use the same soup water to cook the dumplings.

For dumplings, take 3 c. Bisquick, 2 or 3 eggs. If the eggs do not wet it enough, add a little water or more Bisquick so dumplings are kind of dry when you drop them, using a teaspoon, in the boiling soup water. Put the lid on for 10 to 15 minutes. Take one out and cut in 2. If it is dry in the middle they are done. Then put the chicken back in and turn off the heat. Don't boil too long or it gets tough. Good Luck.

Personal Notes:
I have this recipe written in grandma Kickham's own hand and I love having it. She always made yummy chicken and dumplings so around 1970 I asked her for the recipe and she wrote it down for me. I'm not sure mine ever turned out as good as hers, but here it is for you to try.
