1/2 c shortening
1 c light brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 sq. chocolate
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c nuts
2 c flour
1/2 tsp bk pd
1/4 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbs sour milk

Combine all ingredients, drop on greased cookie sheet & bake at 400 degree (?) for 10 min.
