2 oz unsweetened chocolate( grama used 2 Tbsp cocoa )
1 c sugar, 1/2 c butter. 1/2 c shortening, 1 egg, 1 Tbsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 2 Tbsp warm water, 1 1/2 c flour.

Melt chocolate and set aside. Cream sugar, butter , shortening, egg & vanilla. Spoon flour into measuring cup. Add baking powder & salt. Add to creamed ingredients. Mix well. Divide dough into 1/2. Add chocolate or cocoa to one portion and mix well. Roll out each portion dough between wax paper-remove the sheet and place chocolate dough on top of white dough. Cover with wax paper again and roll up lenghtwise, jelly roll fashion. Chill rolled dough for 1/2- 2 hours until firm. ( grandma left it in frig over night) Slice with sharp knife. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake @ 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes
