1 pint shucked oysters (with liquid)
1 cup soda cracker crumbs
1/2 cup fresh whole wheat bread crumbs (1 slice)
8 Tbsp. melted butter
1/3 cup half and half
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. cayenne
2 tsp. chopped fresh chives
dash of tobasco
1 tsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice

Preheat oven to 425º.
Reserve 1/3 cup of the oyster liquor for recipe..rest of liquor stays with the oysters.
1. Combine cracker and bread crumbs with butter.
2. In a separate bowl, mix oyster liquor, half and half, cayenne, Worcestershire, tobasco and lemon juice.
3. Spread 1/2 of crumb mixture in the bottom of a greased shallow baking dish (GE. 10" pie or quiche dish). Arrange oysters in single layer over the crumbs. Pour cream mixture over the oysters. Toss the remaining crumbs with chives and sprinkle evenly over oysters.

Bake in center of oven for 20 minutes; until casserole is bubbly & just starting to brown.
