3 lbs fresh collard greens

1/3 c.+ sugar

3-5 pieces of seasoning (bacon or ham)

salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Wash and clean greens. Tear off stems and cut up. Place all ingredients in large pot. Cover 3/4 full with water. Cook about 1 hour on medium heat. After greens have simmered, add diced turnip if desired. May drain. Makes about 6 servings.
