Crisco two crust recipe or Pillsbury All Ready pie crust in the red box usually found near the dinner rolls in a tube at the grocery store

Filling:
10-12 medium Jonathan apples
1 to 1-1/4 cup of sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 to 2 T quick tapioca
3 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 inch deep dish pie pan with bottom crust. Peel and slice apples and mix with sugar, cinnamon and tapioca. Place slices of butter on top of apple mixture and then put the top crust on. Seal top crust to bottom. Slit top with knife. Sprinkle a little sugar on top.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you have a pie safe use that to prevent spills in the oven.

Be sure to use a deep dish pie pan. This recipe won an award for best pie at a county fair many years ago...you will love it.
