8 slices of bacon-fried and drained
4 onions-fry in grease, add:
1/2 to 1 cup brown sugar
1 T dry mustard
1 T salt
Boil for 20 minutes, stir often

Drain: 1 can yellow butter beans
1 can lima beans
1 tall can kidney beans
I tall can baked beans in tomato sauce( no need to drain)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine beans in large casserole dish. Pour liquid and onions over. Crumble bacon on top. Bake at 350º for 1 hour.

Grandma's Beans were our favorite at family picnics. I often adapt the recipe by cooking the bacon in the microwave, reducing salt and cooking the onions until tender. I've also made it in the crockpot.
