Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb.ziti or penne pasta
1 lb. spicy italian sausage
2 jars ( 28 oz .) pasta sauce
1/2 cup pesto
1 container (15 oz.) whole milk ricotta cheese, about one cup
1 package ( 8 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese, about two cups
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare an approximately 13 by 11 inch pan with cooking spray. Cook pasta al dente, drain but do not rinse. Place in a large mixing bowl and add the pesto to the cooked pasta, mix well and set aside. In a large saute pan over medium heat, cook sausage until browned, add pasta sauce and mix well. In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese and half (one cup) of the mozarella cheese. Ladle a third of the pasta sauce on the bottom of the prepared pan. Add a layer of pesto pasta, spoon ricotta and cheese mixture over pasta, repeat layers, ending with sauce. Top with remainder of mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes or until bubbly. Remove foil for last five minutes of cooking. While the spicy sausage really makes the great flavor of this casserole, you can substitute regular sausage, ground beef or ground turkey.
