2 1/4 c unbleached flour
2 1/4 c brown sugar firmly packed
1/2 c butter softened
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tbsp vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 c sour cream
1 c boiling water
3 sqs unsweetened chocolate

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate in bowl over pan of simmering water, do not let bowl touch water.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, soda and salt.
In large bowl of mixer beat butter until smooth add brown sugar, beat well.
Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each egg. Beat on medium speed for 5 mins.
Add dry ingredients to butter mixture alternating with sour cream, mix well. Gently stir in hot water.
Batter will be very thin.
Pour batter into 2 round cake pans or 13x9 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for approx 35 mins or until knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
