1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. old fashioned oats
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. orange-flavored dried cranberries
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions:

Beat butter, sugar, egg and vanilla for about 5 minutes. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining dry ingredients (except cranberries and pecans). Add half of the oats mixture to the butter mixture and mix well. Add the other half and mix well again. Stir in the cranberries and pecans. Bake at 350 for 12-13 minutes.

I added choclate chips and omitted nuts. You can add anything you like! Great master recipe.
