2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. shortening
1 t. soda in 2 T. hot water
1 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
3 c. flour

Filling
Dates chopped
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c water
Cook until smooth
Directions:
Directions:
Drop 1 t. of dough on cookie sheet. Top with filling, then add 1 t. dough on top.
Bake at 375º.
