2 cups sifted flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg - unbeaten
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mixed dry ingredients into bowl. Add shortening and blend until like cornmeal. Make a hole and pour in egg and milk. Mix together until a stiff dough. Knead 5 minutes. Roll till 1/2 inch thick and cut into biscuits. Bake 10-15 minutes at 450 degrees.
