5 apples
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1/3 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and peel the apples. Cut into quarters. Make a syrup of the sugar and water. Cook apples in syrup until tender. Place them on a serving dish. Save syrup.

In another pan mix cornstarch with milk. Let boil and add to syrup that the apples were cooked in. Cook a few minutes. Remove from the heat and put in salt, butter, and vanilla. Pour over apples.
