Nut Roll Dough

1/2 Cake Large Yeast
2 Sticks Butter
1 Tsp. Salt
4 Egg Yolks
1 Cup Scaled Milk
4 to 5 Cups Flour


Nut Roll Filling

4 Cups Ground Walnuts
2 Cups Sugar
2 Cups Canned Milk
2 Egg Yolks
Directions:

Nut Roll Dough:
Dissolve 1/2 cake of yeast in 1/8 cup of warm water plus 2 Tbsp. Sugar. ( Set aside)

Scaled Milk, set aside to cool.

Combine butter, salt, egg yolks, add cooled yeast mixture and Milk. Knead and divide into 4 rolls. Set aside to rise to double in size.

Filling:

Cook until thick
Walnuts, sugar,canned milk and egg yolks.

Once dough has risen. Roll out into four oblong circles. Spread filling on circles and roll. Seal edges with egg whites to seal. Let rise again about 15 minutes before baking.

Place on greased baking sheets and bake 30-45 minutes at 375 degrees.

This is a long process, but is worth the effort. Mom made this every year for Christmas.
