1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. buttermilk (or sour milk)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º
Mix together shortening, sugar & egg. Stir in milk. Sift together dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Add nuts and mix well. Chill for 2 hours. Grease cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
